The decision narrative for the Load4 isn't written yet. The
longtail decision document next door has
the shape it'll follow: forcing function, starting reference,
requirements, ruled-out alternatives, the wider tombstone, the
honest framing. A frontloader equivalent will live at
/frontloader once the Load4's narrative is written.
How we use it
Pending
Day-to-day usage: school runs, weekend errands, what fits in the cabin, real-world range with the dual battery, what we do in Michigan winters, where we don't take it.
Modifications
What we've added on top of the as-shipped configuration. The Load aftermarket world is largely European; almost everything worth buying ships from more-cargobike.de.
- Kinderrad-Halterung (kid's-bike holder) Mount inside the cargo cabin for a kid's balance bike. Lets the older one ride their own bike to the trailhead and switch into the Load when their legs run out.
- Mudcover Cover that protects the rear of the cargo cabin from rear-wheel splash. Useful through West Michigan spring.

- Ships with a Bosch DualBattery configuration: two PowerPack 800 Wh batteries totaling 1600 Wh. Upgraded from the standard single 725 Wh at order.
- Display: Bosch Purion 200 on the handlebar as the primary readout, plus a Bosch SmartphoneGrip in place of the Kiox 500 originally configured. The Kiox 500 was swapped out for the SmartphoneGrip at order. The Purion 200 handles primary metrics; the phone via eBike Flow handles navigation, fitness, route tracking.
- Motor model confirmed via Bosch eBike Flow app: BDU3781 is the Performance Line Speed Smart System Gen 4. Hardware-capped at 85 Nm. No firmware path to the Gen 5 100 Nm unlock.
